The Wall Street Journal reports that M&A bankers need to be careful about the REACH European legislation and the responsibilities this brings to companies. Specifically in the SME area, it is expected that companies in many cases do not comply yet with the requirements that are mandatory as from December 1st, 2010. Many SME companies are lacking expertise and are likely to be struggling to make significant investments in testing facilities and management time.
