Washing Machine poses the risk of BURN!!

Reported by RAPEX 2010 report 26, Brand Miele - Washing Machine with model PW 6055 (capacity 5.5 kg) and PW 6065 (capacity 6,5 kg). Products produced from 30th November 2009. The manufacturer has taken voluntary corrective actions.

The product poses a risk of burns because hot water or foam may suddenly escape from the machine through the detergent dispenser drawer.

The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive.

Pram body poses a risk of injuries

Reported by RAPEX 2010 report 25, childcare articles and children’s equipment pram body branded Brio Go (Model no.: 364460 17981461 XXXX, the X stands for four digits when the pram body is manufactured, for example 0923) poses a risk of injuries because the carrying straps may not be properly attached and could become detached. If this should happen when there is a baby in the pram body, the baby could fall out and suffer severe injuries to the head or to the body.

LED lamp tube poses a risk of electric shock

Reported by RAPEX 2010 report 25, lighting equipment LED lamp tube branded Eco Light Nordic (Model no.: 1100-LED-TUBE-DIP-T10-5W-1200mm, 1100-LED-TUBE-SMD-T10-18W-1200mm ) which intended to replace a traditional fluorescent tube in the original (existing) luminaries poses a risk of electric shock. The reasons are:

  • - during mounting the free-end connector of the LED tube might be live;
  • - the clearance and the creepage distances are not sufficient;
  • - the insulation resistance is not sufficient.

The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standards EN 60598 and EN 60699.

Withdrawal from the market and recall from consumers ordered by the authorities.

Unsafe Christmas – With problem Lighting chain

Reported by RAPEX 2010 report 23,” NTH” has withdrawn their problem product Lighting chain - 20L LED LIGHT from the market ordered by the authorities.

The product poses a risk of fire and electric shock because the basic insulated live parts are accessible and come into contact with accessible metal parts. Furthermore, the cross-sectional area of the conductors in the cord is not sufficient.

The product does not comply with the Low Voltage Directive (LVD) and the relevant European standard EN 60598.
