{"id":3309,"date":"2025-04-17T13:04:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-17T11:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/productip2.dev.peakfort.nl\/news\/france-bans-pfas\/"},"modified":"2025-08-29T15:00:15","modified_gmt":"2025-08-29T13:00:15","slug":"france-bans-pfas","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.productip.com\/de\/nachrichten\/france-bans-pfas\/","title":{"rendered":"France bans PFAS from consumer products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main provisions concerning environmental protection are included in the very comprehensive French Environmental Code.&nbsp;Chapter IV of Title II of Book V deals with the prevention of risks resulting from exposure to perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently the French government adopted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legifrance.gouv.fr\/loda\/id\/LEGIARTI000051266118\/2025-03-01\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Law 2025-188<\/a> that supplements the requirements on certain products that contain PFAS.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Banned products<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per 1 January 2026<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The production, import, export and marketing of the following PFAS-containing products are prohibited:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Consumer textile clothing, footwear and waterproofing agents for these products.<\/li>\n<li>Cosmetic products.<\/li>\n<li>Wax products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per 1 January 2030<\/h3>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ban is extended to <u>all<\/u> textile products containing PFAS.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>PFAS Discharges<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The same Law 2025-188 aims a progressive reduction of discharges of PFAS from industrial installations, ending these discharges into water within five years.
