{"id":3352,"date":"2024-08-02T13:27:10","date_gmt":"2024-08-02T11:27:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/productip2.dev.peakfort.nl\/?post_type=news&#038;p=3352"},"modified":"2025-09-03T15:46:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T13:46:12","slug":"meanwhile-eudr-information-system","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.productip.com\/de\/nachrichten\/meanwhile-eudr-information-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Meanwhile, the EUDR Information System"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>How is the progress of the EU Deforestation Regulation&#8217;s Information System?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two months ago we shared the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.productip.com\/news\/meanwhile-eudr-information-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">concerns<\/a> about a workable and timely available information system for the submission of EUDR <a href=\"https:\/\/green-business.ec.europa.eu\/implementation-eu-deforestation-regulation\/due-diligence_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Due Diligence<\/a>\u00a0Statements (DDS).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This week the Commission gave an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.europarl.europa.eu\/doceo\/document\/E-9-2024-001063-ASW_EN.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">answer<\/a> to a written question about the current status. The Commission replied that it \u201cis currently focusing its efforts on preparing all relevant tools for a smooth implementation\u201d and \u201cis working to ensure that the information system reaches the required robustness and capacities in time\u201d.\u00a0 The Commission assures that the information system and an application programming interface (API) will be available before the EUDR enters into force at the end of this year on 30 December.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is unclear how little time will be left for operators and traders to have a \u201csmooth and automated data exchange\u201d with minimal \u201cmanual data input\u201d to fulfil their obligations in time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have confidence in the effort the Commission says it is putting into this. It would really be a huge disappointment if there were a &#8218;valid&#8216; excuse for rogue traders who are unwilling to meet their obligations.
