The SVHC candidate list has been extended to 224 substances

Regulatory

Today, 10 June 2022, the European Chemical Agency ECHA added another substance of very high concern (SVHC) to the so-called Candidate List. The new entry is N-(hydroxymethyl)acrylamide (EC# 213-103-2) that has been added as it may cause cancer or genetic defects.

It is mostly used in polymers and when manufacturing other chemicals, textiles, leather or fur. If this substance is present in a concentration above 0,1% w/w in any of your articles, then you must fulfill the related obligations such as the registration in the SCIP database.

More about this addition can be found here on the ECHA website.
All 224 substances can be found in ECHA’s Candidate List.
