Breaking News! Update UK Government on UKCA, 20 June 2022

Regulatory

The government will introduce legislation so that the UKCA marking can be placed on a label affixed to the product or on a document accompanying the product until 31 December 2025.

The UK authorities announced after Brexit that a non-permanent UK CA marking would be permitted until 31 December 2022. However, this grace period has now been extended until 31 December 2025, a full three years. A non-permanent marking is either a label affixed to the product or on a document accompanying the product. Find the official announcement here.

Note that there will be different rules for some product categories, such as medical devices and construction products.

ProductIP supports making technical files with up-to-date references to UK legislation, including the generation of UK CA declarations of conformity. Just as we already did and still do for the EU market, with CE declaration of conformity, of course. ProductIP also acts as UK and EU Authorised Representative.
