GHS Pictograms

The Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (CLP), in short GHS, contains nine hazard pictograms.

CLP

Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 provides details on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures.

The CLP Regulation replaces the directives 67/548/EEC (DSD, Dangerous Substances Directive) and 1999/45/EC (DPD, Dangerous Preparations Directive). The CLP Regulation should be applied in combination with the REACH Regulation (EC) 1907/2006

Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 defines which pictograms are mandatory for which hazard class & category combination for a wide range of products, substances and mixtures. This labelling information is also mentioned on the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) that are mandatory for all chemical substances and mixtures. Only the following nine pictograms can be used:
