Microplastics (update)

Regulatory

Microplastics

Some scientists estimate that the average person eats 5 grams of microplastics per week - about the weight of a credit card. Massive amounts of microplastics pollute our surface waters. Once in the environment, microplastics accumulate in animals and are then also consumed by humans. The EU has decided on an immediate ban of intentionally added microplastics such as microbeads in cosmetics and loose glitter.
