The updated POP regulation came into force July 15th. It deals with a group of chemicals that pose a severe risk to human health and the environment. POP's are regulated on a global scale, and this requires coordination with the REACH regulation, also dealing with substances. Besides POP's there are also PBT's and vPvB's that you need to consider.
